Ronald Davis Obituary

Born Sept.14,1928 in Los Angeles to Paul and Sarah Crawford Davis. Died Mar. 10,2014 in Huntington Beach CA. Ron graduated from LA High in 1945 and UCLA in 1951 where he was a Phi Gamma Delta and a three year letterman in swimming, earning him a free lifetime pass to all UCLA sporting events. Commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy in 1952. Served during the Korean war for two years on the aircraft carrier USS-Boxer and then Underwater Demolition Team 13 in Coronado CA un¿til his release from active duty in 1954. In civilian life he was involved in advertising, stock bro-kerage and acting and was a member of AFTA and SAG. Ron enjoyed sailing, skiing, tennis, biking and bridge and was an active member of the Cornerstone singles group of Mariners Church in Irvine and a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in New-port Beach. He is survived by a daughter Janene Smith (husband Rodney) and two grandsons, Kyle Smith and Quentin Smith of Lancaster CA and a brother Paul Davis of Huntington Beach CA. Ron also leaves behind a great legacy of a multitude of friends who will miss his great sense of humor and his friend¿ship. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Newport Beach on Friday March 28 at 3:00 PM.
