Shirley Rosenberg Obituary

June 26, 1925 - January 26, 2022 Ninety-six years ago, born in Los Angeles, she had a love affair with the City of Angels. Her father, Fred Rothman, was instrumental in starting the business community in Downtown Los Angeles in 1912. Even at 96, she knew every landmark, street and short cut in the city. Few people were as charitable and active in their community, giving of her time and donations to numerous organizations. Important to her were her Judaism, her mountains, travel and her love of fine clothes. But most of all, her family. Her life was full, including traveling the world, often with her friend, Harold Igdaloff over the latter years. She had the great fortune of two wonderful marriages and the benefit of two beautiful families. With her first marriage to Jack Haskin she had three children, Cary, Donny and Vikki; Cary who was married to Barbara Haskin, Vikki who just celebrated her 52nd anniversary with Frank Flam and Donny who passed away in 1972. After Jack's death in 1968 she was remarried to Milton Rosenberg and inherited a brand new family. She was proud of all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and even a great grandchild and her nieces and nephews. She suffered the death of her first granddaughter, Dana Haskin, but is survived by other grandchildren including Jamie Flam, Juli and her husband Josh Schneiderman, Danny Ross and his wife, Colleen and Darren Ross and wife Jennifer. She also leaves niece Valerie Rope and nephew Paul Freidman. Her legacy is an inspiration to appreciate life and family. Funeral services were at Hillside Memorial Park on June 30, 2022.
