Sofia Makovoz-Traurig Obituary

Sofia Makovoz beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2023 in her sleep at the age of 92. Born on May 27, 1931 in Kyiv, Ukraine, Sofia was known for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering support of her family and friends. Throughout her life, she demonstrated a passion for music, theater, art, touching the hearts of everyone she met.
Sofia worked as a records manager for Meggitt Whittaker Aerospace Corporation in Los Angeles, where she received multiple rewards for her service working on various government projects.
Sofia truly knew that it was more blessed to give than to receive. Her generosity knew no bounds. Sofia was a loving mother, daughter, sister and aunt with a beautiful soul who would help anyone. Her radiant smile lit up any room she entered. She enjoyed going to the theaters, museums, and traveling. She lived life to the fullest and especially loved spending time with her family, friends,
Although Sofia is gone, she will live in our hearts forever.
Sofia is survived by her son Walter, and younger brother Leonid, and a host of family and friends who will forever hold her dear in their hearts.
Sofia is buried at Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles, CA.
