Stephen Claman

Claman, Stephen Edward September 19, 1932 - August 23, 2012 Loving husband to Renee (deceased) for 56 years and father to Susan Claman (Rick Gruber), Caren Claman, Cheryl Brennan and Douglas Claman (Jennifer). Grandfather of Jeremy & Molly Gruber; Madeline, Kyle, & Eric Hatlen; Willy, Noah & Talia Brennan; Alexandra & Andrea Claman. Some of his favorite times were family get-togethers and reunions. Was a lifelong Angeleno, son of Florence and Henry Claman and brother to Maurice. Attended Carthay Circle Elementary, John Burroughs Junior High, LA High, and UCLA (both for undergraduate and law school). Made and kept friends from grammar school to the present. Started his legal career at Greenberg Glusker in 1959 and was a well-respected real estate lawyer, partner and mentor there for his entire career. He was also a successful real estate investor. Dad was an excellent athlete and remained an avid tennis player and skier. World traveler from the Arctic to Antarctica, but most loved the Mauna Kea Resort and Sun Valley, Idaho. Generous to various charities and very committed to UCLA and UCLA Law School. Will be sorely missed by his family and many friends and colleagues, including his friend June Meyers who brought him much joy this past year. Services will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Hillside Memorial Park, 6001 Centinela Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90045.
