I only became aware of you and your book today thanks to another alumni of Vietnam. I have a copy and plan to read your book soon. From what I have already read, I really like your writing style and am sure I will enjoy the read. I too wrote a book, and it was just published in June (Shot At & Missed), but our experiences were polar opposites. Still, I am sure, if we ever had the chance to talk, we would have found Vietnam was not just a killing field, it was common ground. My tour was from 1967 through 1968 and it took me almost 50 years to write my book, and I know now I could have never completed it any sooner. Right now I am encouraging and helping another vet write his story based on his letters home, and I am so honored at the privilege. Although way too late, I would like to offer my profound belated condolences to your family and friends, you left us way too soon. Life for many is usually deemed to be too short, but the beauty of it all is in the beholder. Rest in peace.

We couldn't stand each other until The Beatles happened. All of a sudden we had something in common. Friendship grew strong from there. I love you Buddy.
