Finally tracked you down brother. I know it's been a while since you left, but you're always thought of fondly. I remember all the good times playing after school sports at 4th Street and doing our thing at Belvedere Park with the Huskies. May God watch over you for eternity.

I'm here at work and I was thinking of Wayne and Bruce, Eileen Salcido and Sal Flores and so many others wondering whatever happened to them. We all went to the same elementary and JR high together. At Fourth Street we had the same teacher 2 yrs in a row. Mrs. Morgan and Mr. Carletta. I have great memories of the twins if I would tell you what
Wayne would do too me It's to funny and complicated to explain. My deepest sympathy to the family it was a shock to find out today that he is no longer with us, may his soul rest in peace. Vianey Rios - Montez

My memories of Wayne are almost daily being with my brother Ernie. Bruce, Wayne and Ernie were the 3 musketeers driving their mustangs way back in the 80's. Bruce and Wayne used to come over to our house in East L.A., hang out and get hair cuts from me. I was 3 years younger than them but I thought they were the most handsome guys I had ever seen.
I am writing in this guest book so late because my brother Ernie just called me this morning to tell me he just found out himself about Wayne's passing. I could feel the hurt and tears from my brother as he told me I just couldn't believe it. I can sympathize and relate to your pain, Ernie and I also lost our little brother back in 99. It's never easy to say goodbye, but knowing we will see our loved ones again someday gets us through somehow.
Bruce, Wayne and Gary have the best parents ever, please accept my condolences for your loss. We would love to be in touch with the family. We live in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

I am very sorry to hear about the passing of Wayne Verdugo. I had the pleasure of knowing Wayne and his brother Bruce through our tenure at Garfield High School. Wayne, Bruce and myself, played varsity baseball for a few years together. Although I haven't seen either of the two since high school, I still remember how nice they were and how everybody liked them. Being a parent of six of my own children I can't begin to imagine what the Verdugo family is going through. My thought's and prayers are with the enitre Verdugo family and their friends. May God bless you all.

To All the Verdugo Family:
Thanks for including us in the final earthly good bye to Wayne. Arman & Norma you are the foundation of this loving family as everyone knows. Gary the unsung hero in his humble manner and Bruce & Wayne carried the torch in fine fashion as the Twin Towers of 4th Street School and through their younger adulthood. Since I am older than Gary, my fondest memories of Bruce and Wayne was always looking for acceptance/approval from Big Brother to see if they were to his standards. Truth be told they all are very talented individuals and offer life much more than sporting encouragement. Through sports though we have all known success and failure. We learned to stand, walk, run and fall but most of all we learned to get up and keep on trying. Life is not always easy but worth fighting for. May God Bless the Verdugo's and their extended family throughout the neighborhood.
Sincerely,
Manuel "Secret" & Debbie Alvidrez

My fondest memory of Wayne is hanging with him and Bruce of course in the famous "Back Room". I was still a pre-teen, yet there I was with the All-City football players from Garfield High! They were giving me words of encouragement along with advice. I appreciate the entire Verdugo family for being the great individuals they are and so many fond memories.
