LAURINBURG — Beatrice Sanford Bullard, age 89, passed away peacefully at the Morrison Manor Hospice Home in Laurinburg, North Carolina on May 9, 2021.
Bee was born in East Laurinburg, the daughter of Lonnie and Ethel Sanford. Bee was the youngest of eight brothers and sisters. She attended Appalachian State Teachers College, and between her junior and senior year, met Bill, who would be her future husband of sixty-six (66) years. Bee taught reading in Scotland County for almost thirty-five years at Covington Street Elementary School, North Laurinburg Elementary School, I Ellis Johnson Middle School and finally Central School. Bee loved reading throughout her life and passed on finished books to her grandchildren well into her eighties. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Laurinburg since she and Bill married in 1954 and served as a Sunday School teacher for
decades.
Bee is survived by her husband Bill Bullard, their three sons, Tim, Gray and Dan and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and father and her seven brothers and sisters, Tom, Norman, Margaret, Irene, Edna, Bernice, and Charlie.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Laurinburg. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam gifts may be sent to either First Baptist Church of Laurinburg or Hospice of Scotland County.
