Barbara Simmergren Obituary

SIMMERGREN, Barbara (87) passed away on June 9, 2007. Beloved wife of Bob Simmergren and mother of, Phil and Mary Beth. Barbara was born in Mazon, IL on July 12, 1919. She moved to Long Beach after her husband accepted a music teaching position in the Long beach school district. Barbara graduated from the University of IL as a business major. She taught typing and short hand for the adult schools in Long Beach. She was a great bridge player and excellent cook. She was an attentive mother and we loved her dearly. She volunteered at the Community Hospital in Long Beach and was a member of the Child Benefit League. In later years, although physical illness claimed her mobility, it did not dampen her spirit and enthusiasm for life.
