Cheryl Epple Obituary

CHERYL ANN EPPLE November 2, 1951 to July 5, 2004Cheryl Ann Epple (52) passed away July 5, 2004. She is survived by her husband, Bob Epple; daughter, Nicole Epple; mother, Joyce McCone; sisters, Terri (Steve) McCone-Williams, Lisa (David) VanEpp and Nelda (Bruce) Rueter; brothers, Don McCone and Rob (Shannon) McCone; and several nieces and nephews, Ashley, Samantha, Megan, Kelly, Ryan, Jon, Chris, and Renee. Cheryl was born in Compton, CA November 2, 1951. She graduated from Mayfair High School, class of 1969. Later, she attended Cerritos College and received a BA from Cal State Dominguez Hills in Public Administration. Cheryl has dedicated her life to serving her community having served on the Cerritos College Board of Trustees for the last 11 years. She was a past president for Soroptimists International of Artesia-Ce rritos, Board member of the Greater Long Beach Girl Scout Council, and for the Battered Women's Shelter of Whittier. She was active in the California State Democratic Party, anxiously anticipating the day we could have another Democratic President in office. However, Cheryl still loved her Republican friends and felt that it was their patriotic duty to vote their conscience. There was nothing more important to Cheryl than her family, yet she was always willing to bring in newcomers to be a part of her famil y, regardless of their political affiliation. A service will be held on Saturday, July 10th, 2004, 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Lakewood, 5336 Arbor Road, Long Beach, CA. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Cheryl A. Epple Memorial Scholarship at the Cerritos College Foundation, (562) 860-2451 extension 2526. Whites Funeral Home 562-867-2741
