Long Beach, CA - Edie Kashinsky, 62 of Long Beach passed away at 3:45am on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Los Alamitos Medical Center after an extended battle with cancer.
Edie was born in 1951 in Warren, OH. She was the daughter of Charles and Irene Dunlap of Newton Falls, OH.
She attended Newton Falls High School and Hannah E. Mullins School of Practical Nursing. In 1974, she married the love of her life, Marc Kashinsky. Edie and Marc moved to Long Beach in 1982 where she worked as a nurse until retiring in 2008.
Survivors include her husband Marc Kashinsky of Long Beach, a sister Doris Workman of Newton Falls, and many cherished nieces and nephews and her beloved cat, Chloe. Preceding Edie in death were her parents; brothers, Donald, Delmar, Delbert, Norman, Charles, Harry and Earl, and one Sister, Shirley Baker.
Edie enjoyed traveling, gardening, good food and fine wine. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, the International Myeloma Foundation and/or the Lymphoma Research Foundation. No services are planned. Please sign the guest book at www.presstelegram.com/obits.

So very sorry to hear of Edie's passing. I worked with Edie for many years at Harriman Jones and later we both worked in Los Alamitos in nearby Offices. She was a great person and will be missed. May she rest in peace.

Edie was one of the first nurses I met when I started working at Harriman Jones Medical Group in 1982 and we remained good friends for over 30 years.
We both have September birthdays and would always celebrate by taking each other to lunch the second week in September. She'd scout out someplace we'd never been before, and I discovered a lot of nice restaurants I would have missed out on if not for Edie.
It hasn't entirely sunk in yet that she's gone for keeps. She will be missed by many.
