The 17th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina just passed and I remember we watched (in horror) the aftermath and wished there was something more we could do to help. Misty acted immediately; unable to enter Louisiana, she booked a flight to Texas and volunteered for three weeks helping people that fled Katrina and ended up in Texas. She was big-hearted, kind, generous and selfless. She lived to do good for others and so much more. Love always.

I met Misty when we were kids, I knew her until her passing. She shared her stories, her secrets, her fears, as well as her happiness and her joys with me. She would never hurt another soul. Her heart was so pure and kind, her soul was a blessing in this world and in my life.
On what would have been another of Misty's birthdays today, nothing will ever fill the emptiness that was the space that my dear friend Misty held in my heart. I join everyone in remembering her, in honoring her, in loving her always.

I have too many stories and couldn't possibly decide which one to share here. I'll just say that I met Misty as a teen and knew her until her passing. She shared her deepest secrets with me. She shared her darkest struggles with me. She also shared her bright, kind loving heart with me. Her heart was so pure and kind, her soul was a blessing in this world and in my life.
Once again, on what would have been Misty's birthday, all I can say is that nothing will ever fill the emptiness that was the space that my dear friend Misty held in my heart. I join everyone in remembering her, in honoring her, in loving her always.

Was thinking of Misty today going thru my Facebook Timeline photos. I met Misty in late 90s at Club Hedonism Jamaica. We shared interest in field of psychology in me having a Masters Psych. Misty and I kept in touch for 2 years. In fact, I visited her and stayed at her condo apartment she had in Fort Lauderdale FL. I recall she was living with an older woman. Everytime I see us smiling in Toga pix, a tear comes to my eyes, she was full of spirit and positivitywith a golden heart + soul. She will always be in my thoughts. God Bless!

For some reason her name popped into my head tonight and I googled her. I dated Misty for a few months having met her on New Years Eve 1989 at a Club in Chicago. She was visiting from Romulus and was still getting her undergrad at a Michigan University. We hit it off instantly and had the greatest times but the distance would eventually tear us apart and I would later move back to Hawaii. I spoke with her again in 1990 and even met up with her at a house party outside of Detroit when I was on business at the Renaissance Center, she was there with her off again on again at the time boyfriend and it didn't go over well that I had showed up. (oops) I don't believe we ever spoke again but I have never stopped thinking about her and now to hear this. I think this is the first time that a girl that I really cared for, romantically, has passed. She was the sweetest girl ever and she had an uncontainable spirit and a bit of a wild streak taboot. I cared for her dearly. God bless her and her family and her husband. This news and finding this out tonight just adds to my sadness after the bombing here today in Boston. God bless us all.

I knew Misty when she lived in Denver. I can honestly say that meeting her made me a better person. Although we lost touch after a couple visits to Michigan, I still think of her and her passion for everything she did. We are all fortunate to have spent time with her. God Bless.

I remember going to grandma's on Christmas Eve every year in Melvindale. Seeing the whole family was a treat. I remember's Misty 16th birthday party like it was yesterday...she got a Lover Boy tape from one of her friends. I pray from Aunt Robin.

I took the boat out sailing for the first time since November (Today, is March 31) and I couldn't help but to think of all the great times that we had as a crew with Misty on board "Sundancer." We the crew are going to miss Misty as a hardworking crew member but most importantly the beautiful, kind, and sweet person that she was. Marisa & I feel so greatful to have met Misty and Dave.
