P. Ernest Croan

1960 - 2023

Dec 19, 1960 - Jan 22, 2023 Phillip Ernest "Ernie" Croan of New Orleans left on his never-ending voyage on January 22, 2023. Born December 19, 1960, in Quincy, MA, Ernie was a free spirit if ever there was one. He loved traveling and had been all over the world. He had a great sense of humor and a joyous personality that attracted many different people to his life. He loved his dogs and his family and his friends. He was a successful business owner and retired early to travel and enjoy life with those he cherished. He is preceded by family that departed before him, his mother, Lee Winifred Fairfield, and his father, Thomas Patrick Croan, Sr., and is survived by his beloved dogs, Gertrude and Ruth. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas "Patrick" Croan, Jr.; his sister in-law, Sandra Lynn Croan; his niece, Amber Lilly Croan; and his nephew, Ryan Patrick Croan. At birth, we are born into our families. In life, we make friendships. These friends are the family that we choose. In death, Ernie is also survived by a chosen family that spans the globe from New Orleans to San Francisco; Long Beach to Florida; from Australia to the UK, to Sri Lanka, and beyond. Ernie will be remembered at two gatherings. The first will take place at The Silver Fox in Long Beach, CA, on Friday, February 24, 2023, at 4:00 pm. The second celebration of Ernie's life will be held at The Country Club in New Orleans, LA, on Monday, February 27, 2023, at 4:00 pm, followed by a Second Line at 6:00 pm to spread his remains.
