Paul Weisenberger Obituary

Paul Weisenberger Paul John Weisenberger, 95, passed away June 1, 2011. Paul was born June 16, 1915, one of nine children raised in Norwalk, OH by Alphonse and Victoria (Camp) Weisenberger. Paul was a Pearl Harbor survivor onboard the USS Helena and saw intense action in the South Pacific through the end of WWII. After the war he worked for Kuster Electric in Long Beach, CA and then many years with General Electric Appliance Division. Paul was a very active member of BPOE Elks Lodge #888 in Long Beach and was also a very accomplished deep sea sport fisherman. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Harriet of Westminster, CA as well as seven children: Paul Dennis (Sylvia) Calimesa, CA, Joan Landeros (Angel) Mexico City, James (Rose) Cerritos, CA, Col Robert USAF (Rhonda) Long Beach, CA, Richard (Susan) Huntington Beach, CA, Janet Pullerits, MD (John) Boxborough, MA, Diane Lee (Don) Maui, HI. His descendants also include ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren with another on the way. Paul is also survived by two sisters and one brother in Ohio and his youngest brother, Fr. Leon, serving as a Catholic missionary in Papua, New Guinea. Memorial services include visitation and viewing, Tuesday, June 7, 4pm-8pm at Heritage Memorial Services in Huntington Beach. Funeral is Wednesday, June 8, 10:00 a.m. at St. Bonaventure, Huntington Beach and burial on Thursday, June 9, 11:15 a.m. at Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Paul's name to the Pearl Harbor Memorial Fund, 1 Arizona Memorial Place, Honolulu, HI 96818 or by calling 866-332-1941.
