I met this wonderful judge when I was testifying in Juvenile court many years ago. I was requested to come to his office as our last names were the same and we had a wonderful conversation. May he Rest In Peace

My heartfelt sympathies go out to your family during this difficult time. I hope the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring much comfort. Just knowking that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.

What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we come to love deeply becomes a part of us. May the God,"who binds up the broken-hearted and comforts all who mourn" sustain your family. Our heartfelt sympathy.- Isaiah 61:1,2-

I handled the defense in Judge Wenke's last jury trial in Long Beach. He was a good friend of my Uncle Harold and my old partner, Ed Demler, and I benefitted greatly from his friendship and counsel over the years when he was a frequent mediator and arbitrator. He always had interesting stories to tell, an easy laugh and a great sense of humor. (His little book on jury selection is still a valuable tool for trial lawyers.)I will miss his wit and wisdom.

A true gentlemen and one of the most respected jurists I have come across in my career as an attorney. Also, a very good friend of my father's. Rest in peace judge.

Bob was a great judge and scholar and a loyal friend. He was a very hard worker and always into court before the rest of us. And he had a unique, wry sense of humor. Honest, loyal and kind.

Not sure if previous input went so forgive me if this is a duplicate.
Bob's family and my family have been friends for many, many years. I remember as a young man the Christmas parties at the Wenke house and how the house always looked like something out of a magazine. That was always thanks to Sue who always ensured everything was perfect. My wife and I were reminiscing tonight and we think we were the last couple Bob preceded over a wedding for. Our justice was unable to support us and Bob was kind enough to step in. That was Bob, always willing to help a friend. We remembered that Bob had just returned from one of his many world trips and had picked up a bug but was still willing to help us. We plied him with Champagne! However, again that was Bob and his family always willing to help. Our love and thoughts are with the family.
