Dear Kathy and family,
Together with Tom's other East Coast relatives, we are saddened and in shock with his passing from this life, too soon for someone who cared for so many. All the tributes here to Tom saw the same beautiful attributes that made him Special. Our happy memories, growing up as cousins, and being friends, we pray will give us comfort as we share your grief. We will always remember his "smile" and the good times shared with our children, who were fortunate to grow up around Tom and his family, living on the same block. You are in our thoughts and prayers, accept our deepest sympathy.

I just found out, via a letter from Harriman Jones of your loss. I am in shock. Dr. Mackenzie has been my primary physician since he started in Long Beach, at the Cherry facility. For the last 25 years, I have been seeing him annually for my physicals. It didn't matter that I moved to Laguna Niguel, he was still my main guy. I loved him, for all the right reasons. Being in real estate, I showed him many homes in Seal Beach where he purchased and lived his life. I can't tell you how sad I am and the sadness I feel for you. We have all lost one of life's most genuine, caring and compassionate people!

I wanted to add one more entry as I read about Toms cousin remembering his smiling face as a little boy. I noticed a section where photos could be submitted. It would be wonderful if a few friends and family could post some photos.

I would like to join Debbie Chase in expressing the shock and sorrow of Tom's east coast relatives of his all too early departure from this earth. I am a cousin who is 5 years old than Tom , and although I hadn't seen him in many years , the memories of his smiling face at family birthday parties during his grammar school days will forever remain with me. Our condolences to Kathy ,family and Tom's many friends.

Dear, Kathy. I want to extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Tom was so very special to all of us that were lucky enough to live near him in Seal Beach. He was such a kind and caring man. His wondeful sense of humor and intelligence were truely a beautiful combination that made him so special. His view from his balcony above Seal Way always provided great entertainment! He got a kick out of the shenanigans on the beach but was always there to lend support when needed. I was A kid in college, worried about my classes and new career as a respiratory therapist. He was right there pointing out the things that were important to know in medicine and those that were counterproductive worries on my part. He was an excellent teacher to so
many of us. I feel blessed to have known him. If there is anything that I can do in any way, please don't hesitate to contact me.Take care, Kathy.
Love, Kelly

Dear Kathy & Family,
My Deepest Sympathy goes out to you & your family. Although we have never met, It sure feels like we have through all the Christmas card corresponding over the years. Hearing about my cousin Tom's passing really hit home! I am one of the few cousins that had the privledge of growing up with him on the same street in Woodhaven, N.Y.! He was a cousin we always looked up to. My brother & I remember going into Aunt Julia's(Toms Mom)home and watching JEOPARDY w/Tommy as he always knew all the correct answers. He was a great & wonderful cousin to be around with. Even though he moved miles away from family he was always in our thoughts & prayers each year, as I am sure we were with him. I remember visiting him in Seal Beach with my College roomates over 25 years ago and he welcoming us with open arms & heart of gold like the Tom I always knew from growing-up. My husband & I would like to send our deepest sympathy to you all. May God Bless you all.

To the Mackenzie family:
I just heard the news about Tom, and I am heartbroken. We first met when he was an intern at St. Mary Medical Center and were close friends until I married and moved away. I will always remember his sharp mind and sense of humor. He was a loyal and caring friend and one of the most intelligent and caring doctors I've ever known. I am so sorry.

I have fond memories of going to happy hour at Bobby McGee's with Dr. Tom and others and I feel like I've lost a friend as well as a wonderful, caring doctor. I can still picture his bouncy walk!

To the Mackenzie Family,
I am deeply saddened by your loss. He was a wonderful Dr and human being. I worked at HJ on his first day at the Cheery office. I remember him walking in and smiling. He went upstairs to his corner office and began a long and wonderful career at HJ. I became one of his earliest patients and stayed with him until he left for due to his illness. My Husband Ralph and daughter Lindsey and my grandparents and inlaws and my parents were all his patients. I always could count on his knowledge and wisdom to help me through some of my worst times in life. I will miss him so soo much. I feel lost and like I just lost a best friend. He would have done anything for me and so appreciated him. I want you to know as I am sure you do what an amazing man he was to many people in our family. We will really miss him, God Bless.

Dr. Mackenzie was my Mom and Dad's doctor for over 20 years. My Dad, Gilbert Carlson, loved Dr. Mackenzie. He was always very kind and caring. He was always positive and always listened to what my Dad had to say matter how long it took. My sister and I would take our dad to his doctor visits and we loved Dr. Mackenzie dearly.
We will miss him terribly. Our deepest sympathies to the Mackenzie family.
