Darian Jarrott Obituary
Deming - Senior Patrolman Darian Rey Jarrott, 28, died in the line of duty February 4, 2021. Private services open to immediate family will begin with a visitation Friday morning, February 12, 2021 from 10 to 12 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lordsburg. Funeral Mass will be that afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Lordsburg High School Football Field with Fr. Jude Okonkwo, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. This will be a private event open to immediate family and New Mexico State Police. Covid 19 restrictions will be in place with masks required and social distancing enforced. Interment will be at Shakespeare Cemetery with honors presented by the New Mexico State Police Honor Guard. Services will be live streamed with the link to be announced by New Mexico State Police.
Darian was born April 10, 1992 in Silver City to John R. and Gloria (Tarango) Jarrott. He graduated from Lordsburg High School in 2010 where he was a talented athlete and salutatorian of his class. He always had an interest in law enforcement and began his career as a Detention Officer and later was an Inspector with the Department of Motor Transportation. Darian continued to further his education at Western New Mexico University and received a Bachelor's Degree in Administration of Justice. He worked with the Department of Public Safety and became a Certified Law Enforcement Officer in 2014 with class 189. Darian was very dedicated to his career and in July 2015 furthered his career with the New Mexico State Police. He loved his family and friends and is remembered as always having a smile. He also enjoyed hunting and video games.
He is survived by his wife Gabriella D. Jarrott; his parents, John and Gloria Jarrott; children Darian Jarrott Jr., Noah Rey Jarrott, Ariella Rey Jarrott, and 1 child on the way; brother John Rosalio Jarrott Jr., sisters Demetria Jarrott and Alicia Jarrott; and numerous extended family members and colleagues. He was preceded in death by grandparents John C. Jarrott Jr. and Maria Jarrott, Santiago Tarango and uncle John C. "Tungie" Jarrott III.

I never had the privilege to meet Officer Jarrott but I am very grateful for his dedication and loyalty to protect our community and the state of NM in general. He did it unselfishly with honor, pride and professionalism by providing us with a safe and secure environment that ultimately cost him his life for doing so without hesitation. To the entire Jarrott family, the NMSP and all law enforcement officers in NM, please know that I have you in my thoughts and prayers asking God to guide, shield and strengthen you throughout this difficult journey you have had to endure. May the Almighty Father shower blessings and graces upon you all the days of your lives. You are loved.

I did not know this officer but I would like the family to know my prayers are with them. Thank you sir for all the people you protected and for being such a great policeman. I thank God for all officers. Not enough good things are said about them these days and it's so sad. People forget that officers put their lives on the line every day to protect us!
