Ill always remember his kindness to my mother, Marion Shaw, especially while she was in hospice at home. I think of him each time I look at his bronzes. This invitation came today, which happens to be the anniversary of her death in 1998. What a good man!

Lynn, I am deeply saddened to learn of your fathers passing , as well as your mother. I know how hard it must be as I always thought of you three as a very close family. The Ox Yoke group of all our parents is complete in Heaven. Love, Arlene Pixley

Dear Lynn, As I happened upon your father's notice, I was warmed by his memory. My mother, Marion Shaw, was his devoted student for many years in Sarasota (Casey Key). I'm sitting next to her favorite bronze horse statue. She always attributed it's artistic merit to Gene's guiding hand, through which she was able to find her artistic voice. Truthfully her later life was made difficult by cancer & the passing of her dearest friends. The gift of self-actualization & personal accomplishment Gene gave her was nothing less than a sentinel life experience. He gave her a sense of pride she had never experienced before, and we are all reminded of his gesture whenever we admire the collaborative works of art that grace our home. Your father was a kind and generous man. Our family was better for having known him.
