Lloyd Crawford Obituary

Lloyd Ray Crawford, most well-known as Spyder, has passed away on October 19, 2018 at the New Mexico State Veterans Home in Truth or Consequences, NM after a long battle with a devastating illness. Spyder was born September 10, 1945 to Lee Harrison and Beatrice Laverne Sims Crawford in Clebit, Oklahoma but lived his entire life in New Mexico. Living in Ruidoso, Alamogordo and Los Cruces.
He loved to dance and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Vietnam. He was a born leader, achieving success early in life as a store developer for Circle K Corporation and a sales manager for Pepsi Cola. He worked for Carter Tobacco Company for many years before building his own convenience store in Dona Ana, NM and named it Chucky's. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, Jornada Lodge and he had been retired for 11 years at the time of his death.
Spyder never met a stranger and was generous to a fault. He leaves behind many friends and family who loved him dearly. His devoted friend, Paul Forsyth of T or C, sisters Darlene Elliott of Los Lunas, NM, and Earlene Gladwell of Oklahoma City. One brother, Arley G. Crawford and wife Sherry of Elizabethtown, KY, special niece and nephew Carol and David Clifton of Las Cruces and many other nieces and nephews.
Spyder underwent direct cremation and will be interred at the Veteran's cemetery in Santa Fe, NM. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
