Marian Wolle Obituary

Marian Larer Ebert Wolle
February 14, 1928 - August 11, 2017
Marian Larer Ebert Wolle passed away gracefully on August 11, 2017 at The Village at Northrise in Las Cruces, NM.
Marian is preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Alan Ebert Sr. She is survived by her daughter Janet Burrill Ebert Hoffman (husband, Howard), and her son Donald Alan Ebert Jr. (wife, Maria). From her first marriage, she has five grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all of whom loved her.
Marian was born in 1928 in Philadelphia, PA. In 1949, Marian received her art degree from the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art, graduating in Illustration. In art school, she met her first husband, Donald A. Ebert. Marian married Donald in 1952. They lived together in Langhorne, Pennsylvania where they raised their two children, Janet and Donald.
In her early years as an artist, Marian completed advertising artwork for AT&T; textbook illustrations for American Book Company; design illustrations for International Design; Christmas card illustrations for American Artists; and illustrations for Humpty Dumpty children's magazine published by Parents Magazine.
In Pennsylvania, Marian loved playing bridge, gardening, and swimming. She continued these hobbies throughout her lifetime. She was known to be a Master Gardener and Master Swimmer, for her accomplishments.
After the death of her first husband, Marian continued to focus on her exercise routine of swimming. This lead to meeting Jordan Wolle in 1987, at the US National Senior Olympics in Saint Louis, MO. They were married two years later. Marian moved from her home in Pennsylvania to join Jordan in Las Cruces, New Mexico. This was the beginning of twenty-five years of competitive swimming and travel together.
Marian trained with the Las Cruces Aquatic Team. The kids enjoyed Marian right from the start as she wasn't as fast as they were, which gave them more time to talk and rest between sets. As her swimming progressed, Marian competed in swim meets throughout the US and worldwide, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, England, Morocco, and other countries. During her swimming career, Marian was rated in US Masters Top Ten as well as in FINA World Top Ten. Marian also competed in one-five mile ocean and lake swims.
Marian was instrumental in setting up generous scholarships at various schools such as her Alma Mater art school, a PA bible college and several others.
As her hobbies kept her busy, Marian was an accomplished gardener in Pennsylvania as well as in Las Cruces, earning the title of Master Gardner. She also held the title of Life Master Bridge Player.
In Las Cruces, Marian enjoyed spending hours watching her grandkids play soccer from league to high school. Together, Marian and Jordan enjoyed the peace and natural beauty of Willow Creek in the Gila National Forest.
Marian is survived by her second husband, Jordan, of 28 years and his children, Bodwin Denison (husband, Chuck), Brooks Wolle (wife, Candice), Bruce Wolle (wife, Tammy), six grandkids and three great grandkids, all of whom loved her.
The family would like to thank Bonnie Zeiler and the professional care giving staff at The Village at Northrise Home for Alzheimer's Care for the care, love and understanding they provided Marian during her stay with them.
Services will be held at La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home, Friday August 25th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the CAP Program at DACC or NMSU Women's Swim Team. For Online condolences please visit www.lapaz-grahams.com.

Meeting Marion Wolle by attending the Garden Club in 1993 which Marion attended/hosted numerous times, was delightful, as I was learning fast just how enjoyable gardening at a rental house in Las Cruces would be, which began with a back yard full of pumpkins, marigolds, cucumbers, (complete with turtles). I am still in awe that one of my pumpkins won an award in my first entry into the Dona Ana County Fair. Thank you Marion for all you that shared with us all at our monthly Garden Club meetings. What a joy to meet her, and now to remember her for all of her accomplishments. Both my children loved the DAC CAP program, where they were taught how to create art using a variety of mediums. Thank you Jordan for sponsoring art for all
children with Marion. It was a joy to know Marion.

Hi Hopes Garden Club welcomed me when I moved to Las Cruces in 1993. Marian and willing members held the club meetings in their homes, delicious refreshments were served, and I laughed with these lovely ladies. Marian was respected and gracious to all who attended. There were knowledgeable gardeners who pass on knowledge I had to learn, so they enriched me and our community. Later, both my children attended the Dona Ana Arts Community Art Program, held two weeks in the summer, when they were of age. Thank you Jordan for all you and Marian have done to enrich Las Cruces and Dona Ana County with art training.
