Valentine & Rosemary Maynes
Deming - Valentine and Rosemary Maynes, husband and wife of 53 years, entered eternal life to be with Jesus Christ on January 20, 2021, and January 29, 2021 respectively.
Valentine (Tini) Maynes was born February 21, 1937 in Deming, and Rosemary Duran was born October 17, 1941 in Deming. Valentine served his country in the US Navy for 8 years, and returned to Deming, marrying Rosemary in 1967. They made their lifetime home in Deming where they were proud parents to three daughters: Christina, Susan and Felicitas.
Together they shared a life full of love, laughter and faith, always willing to share a funny story about the past. Rosemary and Tini were passionate, life-long sports fans, cheering on Wildcat and Aggie athletes every chance they had. They loved, more than anything, to watch their grandsons participate in high school and college activities.
Both were devout Catholics, Tini was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus member, and Rosemary a member of the Women's Apostolado Group at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Deming where faith played a central role in their everyday lives. Their love for one another was evident, as side by side they weathered life's challenges and enjoyed many blessings, especially in the form of grandsons and great grandkids.
Tini and Rosemary were loved by their 10 grandsons: Kyle, Kevin and Jerod Strathman; Jacob, Domenic and Santiago Flores; Jay Jr., Daniel, Andres and Alex Villa; and 11 great grandchildren; Melanie, Olivia and Barrett Strathman; Sophia Flores; Robert Medina, David, Zeke, Jayde, Alexa, Daniella, and Frankie Villa.
Valentine is preceded in death by his parents (Manuela and Santa Rosa Maynes); his brothers Arnufo, Thomas, Felix, Manuel, Santa Rosa Jr. Maynes and his sisters Felicitas Gomez and Margaret DeLaO. He is survived by his sister Lucia Garcia and brother Jasper Maynes.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents Victor and Petra Duran. She is survived by her brothers Victor Jr. and Robert Duran.
The couple have chosen cremation, and a celebration of life will be held by the family at a date yet to be determined. Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Mimbres Crematory.
Tini and Rosemary were truly loved by all who knew them and will be missed on this earth, but their reunion in heaven is surely glorious.
