Wayne RANNIE Obituary
1946 - 2014
Peacefully in his sleep, on April 14, 2014, beloved son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and devoted friend. He will be sadly missed by his daughters Lisa and Carolyn; his grandchildren Jacob, Shane and Tyler; his nephews Aron and Gavin; his niece Tara; his sister Lark; and his brother Colin. He was well- known for his patience, dedication to his work as an administrator at Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board, love of life and most importantly, loyalty. We pray that he may now walk hand in hand with those who will assuredly welcome him with open arms. May God guide his soul to a better place so he can deservedly rest in peace. Friends will be received at Urgel Bourgie Funeral Home on Friday, April 18, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 3955 chemin Côte-de-Liesse, Saint-Laurent. 514-735-2025 www.urgelbourgie.com. A Service to celebrate his life will be held at St- George's Anglican Church, 1101 Stanley Street, Montreal, on Saturday, April 19 at 12 p.m.

Wayne and I were fellow students at McDonald College in St. Anne de Bellevue about 48 years ago. His friendship meant a great deal to me and I will always remember him with great fondness.

I just learned of this sad news. It had been a long time since I last connected with Wayne. I had the joy of getting to know him at seminary. We will never forget the many dinners we've shared together chez Papavasiliou, and the intimate sharing about life and death, God and religion, and miracles to treasure.... Wayne is truly a man of faith, and even though we only made his acquaintance later in life, he has brought to us something larger than life itself.

It is with sadness that I have learned of Wayne's passing.I has known at R.H.S. where as our Vice-Principal he was a compassionate and sensitive individual. I can still remember our conversations.He will truly be missed.

My sympathies go out to Wayne's family and to his wife Rachel. As a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Cartierville before it closed, Wayne sometimes read the Lessons and preached the occasional Sermon. He also read stories/poems at our annual Spring Concert - he had the voice for it. He will be missed and remembered by his past Church family.

My sympathy to the Rannie family. I knew Mr. Rannie as vice principal at Rosemere High. He always had a kind smile for everyone. He was such a nice and gentle man. I remember him well, laughing and smiling.

My condolences go out to the family of Wayne at this sorry time.He was a student teacher under my tutelage just prior to him beginning his teaching career, served as a physical education instructor in one of my schools where i was principal and later worked on the same administrative team with the various school commissions that now form the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board.He worked hard at any and all assignments he was given and helped MANY students in their educational path. I am sure he will be missed by all those who knew him, and may he rest in peace.

Life is so short, and getting shorter. Reunited in December, after over 40 years, was great to see my cousin, and spend some quality time together, all be it short. You are already missed, and will be for a long time to come. We will meet again.
