Betty Gilmer Obituary
Mount Vernon, MO
Betty L. Gilmer, 80, formerly of Reading and Lebanon, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Lawrence County Manor, Mount Vernon, MO. She was predeceased by her husband, John H. Gilmer, Sr., in 2002.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Martha (Hartman) Witmyer.
She was employed with Palmer Candy, Reading, for several years.
Betty enjoyed sewing, needlepoint and word searches. She generally enjoyed doing crafts of all kinds.
She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis, wife of Ray Soliday of Lebanon and Marcia May of Aurora, MO; also her step brothers, John H. Gilmer, Jr. and wife, Sandra of Wyomissing, Keith Gilmer and wife, Sheila of Bethel and Kevin Gilmer and wife, Linda of Leesport. She is also survived by several grandchildren; step grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and step great-grandchildren. Betty was predeceased by two brothers; and a son, Edward Teufel.
A graveside service will be held in Forest Hills Memorial Park, 391 W. Neversink Road, Reading, (Exeter Township) on Saturday, January 7 2017 at 11 a.m. Procession will form inside the gates of Forest Hills.
Auman's, Inc. Funeral Home, Exeter Township, is in charge of arrangements.
