George W. Zimmerman PINE GROVE George W. Zimmerman, age 81, of High Street, Pine Grove, passed away on Sunday, November 5, in Pine Grove. Born on February 2, 1925, in Pine Grove, he was the son of the late Wayne and Ruth Martin Zimmerman. He was the second generation owner of W.G. Zimmerman in Pine Grove. He was a graduate of Pine Grove High School and attended Bloomsburg State College. He was a life member of the H. H. & L. Fire Co., No. 1 in Pine Grove, and a past treasurer of the former Pine Grove Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Club. He was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran and was a life member of the Pine Grove American Legion Post 374. He was an avid golfer. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Dolores M. Miller Zimmerman. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, November 9, in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, West Wood Street, Pine Grove, with S.A.L.M. John Ziegler officiating. The family would prefer, in lieu of flowers, donations be given to the St. John's Lutheran Church, 222 S. Tulpehocken St., Pine Grove, PA 17963, in his memory. The H.L. Snyder Funeral Home Inc., Pine Grove, is in charge of arrangements.
