Harold K. Kurtz

HAROLD K. KURTZ KUTZTOWN Harold K. Kurtz, 92, of Highland Avenue, Kutztown, died January 14, 2007, in his residence. He was the husband of Evelyn J. (Bock) Kurtz. They were married on October 30, 1965. Born in Lebanon County, Pa., on November 7, 1914, he was the son of the late Samuel T. and Earla M. (Keller) Kurtz. He was a 1932 graduate of Lebanon High School. He attended Lebanon Valley College for one year, then Duke University, Durham, N.C., where he received a degree in engineering in 1937. He was a member of the Hugeunot Lodge No. 377, F.&.A.M, Kutztown, for over 50 years. He owned and operated the former Harold K. Kurtz Chevrolet, Kutztown, from 1946 to 1967. Prior to that he was an engineer at the former Ryan Aviation Company, San Diego, Calif. He was placed by the U.S. government from there to Link Aviation to instruct celestial training for the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army. He also provided the same training for the Royal Canadian Air Force under the direction of the U.S. government during World War II. Survivors Services Thursday, January 18, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, with the Rev. Robert R. Mitchell officiating.
