Robert Krall Obituary

Robert L. Krall
November 6, 1933 - January 18, 2018
Schaefferstown
Robert Lee Krall passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018. He was 84 years old.
Known as Bobby, Daddy, Papa and Pop to the ones he loved, Robert was Schaefferstown's biggest advocate, frequently saying "there's no place like Schaefferstown." He served his beloved hometown as the owner, proprietor and butcher at Krall's Meat Market for the overwhelming majority of his life.
In addition to his work, he had a passion for flowers and birds – passions that were instilled in him by his Grandpa Haldeman. He was in awe of the mountains and the changing color palette in autumn. In the spring, he cheered for the Phillies with his wife, Ruth, from their back porch.
All year long, he loved to escape to his "cabin in the mountains" and enjoyed splitting wood and keeping the fire at his A-frame burning. He was a sharp dresser, and was frequently seen wearing his favorite Woolrich attire and what his family will forever call a "Papa Hat" (bucket hat).
Robert was born on Nov. 6, 1933. He attended Heidelberg Township High School where he graduated in 1952.
Robert is survived by his wife, Ruth O. (Clauser) Krall; sister, Annabelle Seiverling (Lowell); daughters, Anne R. Rhoads (Gary) and Elizabeth J. Knight (William); grandson, Matthew Krall; grandson, Nathanial Krall; granddaughter, Elizabeth Greenaway (Bradley); grandson, Andrew Rhoads; granddaughter, Juliana Knight; great-granddaughters, Emma and Stella Krall.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victor G. Krall; his mother, Miriam Haldeman; his brother, Luke E. Krall; and his son, David Krall.
There will be a viewing from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25, at Clauser Funeral Home, N. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown. A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, at Zion United Methodist Church, 22 E. Main Ave., Myerstown, preceded by a viewing at 10 a.m. Friends are invited to join the family for his burial at Albright Cemetery, Kleinfeltersville, followed by a luncheon at Schaefferstown Fire Hall.
Flowers can be sent to Clauser Funeral Home, N. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown, PA 17088. If you'd prefer, in lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to your favorite charity in Robert's name.

Ruth, I just heard of Bobby's passing and had to share my heartfelt sympathy to you and your family. May God comfort you in your sorrow. Bobby was a good man, a family man, but most importantly, he was a man of God. I was blessed to know you both and although we don't see each other as we did in the past, my heart aches for you today. May Bobby rest now in the arms of his Heavenly Father.

To Ruth and his family- So sorry to learn of this. Years ago I recall going to Krall's Meat Market with my mother and father.

Ruthie and family,

So sorry to hear of Bobby's passing. Always enjoyed our discussions on the best season of the year. Can still remember him coming around in the meat truck.

My condolences go out to the Krall family after the loss of their loved one Bobby. A piece of Schaefferstown will surely be missing. I tell people that me and my siblings were raised on Krall's meat. The Krall's were a big part of my life and they will never be forgotton. God has other plans for us now and may He give Bobby's family comfort and peace during this time of bereavement.

It was with deep sadness that I learned of Bobbie's death. Our friendship goes back to the 1940's when I met him as a young boy on Farmers Market in Lebanon. I loved his family, his grandma Maggie, his mother Miriam and his sister Annabelle. What fond memories of those days and the visits to the farm and butcher shop and his cabin in the woods.May he now rest in the Lord. Blessings and prayers to all his family.
