Rodney Shreiner Obituary

REINHOLDS Rodney D. Shreiner, 70, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2012, at his home. Born in Mount Gretna, he was the son of the late Rolandis Shreiner and the late Florence (Ritz) (Shreiner) Keller. He was also the step-son of the late Ernest Keller and was the husband of Mary J. (Walter) Shreiner. A member of Swamp Christian Fellowship in Reinholds, Rodney started racing in the early 1970s. He was a member of Lanco Micro Midgets Racing and was a pit member on two cars. He loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events. A Phillies fan, he also loved hunting. Rodney retired from High Concrete in 2004. In addition to his wife, Rodney is survived by four children, Lawrence B., husband of Donna M. Shreiner of Denver; Holly A., wife of Scott A. Davis of Reading; Bonnie L., wife of Curtis R. Goshert of Stevens; and Dale A., husband of Naomi M. Shreiner of Elizabethtown; four grandchildren, Joseph Kepple, Colton Goshert, Sarah Shreiner, and Austin Goshert; brother, Larry, husband of Jean Shreiner of Newmanstown; and sister, Fern, wife of Raymond Alcala of Manheim. Besides his parents and step-father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Irene Louise Shreiner; and two sisters, Betty Noll and Joyce Sechrist. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Roseboro Stradling Funeral Home, 533 Walnut St., Denver. A viewing will also be held on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Swamp Christian Fellowship Church, 390 Swamp Church Road, Reinholds, followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. with Pastor M. Craig Snow officiating. Burial will take place in Swamp Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Rodney's memory may be made to Swamp Christian Fellowship Church, 390 Swamp Church Road, Reinholds, PA 17569.
