Ruth Hlavaty Obituary

Ruth Anna Hlavaty LEBANON Ruth Anna Hlavaty, 80, of 1605 Federal St., Lebanon, died Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at her residence. She was the wife of Gabriel P. Hlavaty Sr. Born in Lebanon on January 23, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Frances Hassler Young. She enjoyed puzzle books and listening to WLBR AM radio. She was an avid fan of Penn State and the Philadelphia Eagles. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary's Church, Lebanon. Surviving in addition to her husband are five children, Gabriel P. Jr., husband of Jane, John F. and companion Sondra Peiffer, Frances, David of Frackville, and Mary and companion Rob Hughes; grandchildren, Liberty, wife of Erik Kaylor, Anthony P. Hlavaty and companion Crystal, Ann Koehler, David Goodman Hlavaty, Jose' F. Ramos-Hlavaty, Thomas Hlavaty; greatgrandchildren, Darin and Felicia of New Jersey, Hannah, Lynsey, and Alyza; two stepgrandchildren, Angela and Anthony. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and William Young. Funeral services Friday at 9 a.m. from Thompson Funeral Home Inc., 126 S. Ninth St., Lebanon. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. Viewing hours Thursday evening from 6-8, and Friday morning from 8:30-9 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 100 E. Brown St., Middletown, PA 17057. I wish to express my deepest sympathy to the Hlavaty family. I always enjoyed talking to Ruth during my daily mail delivery stops. In the summer she would always kid me about my skinny legs. She will be sorely missed.
