Dayne R. "Red" Walter

1940 - 2025

Deerfield, WI - Deerfield - Dayne Ray "Red" Walter, age 84, passed away on December 26, 2024, with his wife and son Raymond by his side. He was born in Orangeville, IL. to the late Ray and Lola (Ault) Walter.

Red married Lucia Ryder on July 8, 1967. Red lived most of his life around the Deerfield area and worked for the Gullickson family hauling canned milk from farmers and fixing semi-trucks. He liked to joke around and loved spending time at his country home, gardening and playing with the cats.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years Lucia; son Raymond; five sisters Mona Manson, Ruth Bellamy, Etha Stimpert, Mary Jane Gilbertson and Helen Willhite.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday January 3, 2025, at IMMANUEL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 138 County Rd BB, Marshall, WI. with Rev Paul Sharrer presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in Cottage Grove. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the funeral at the church on Friday.
