Mark Evenson Obituary

Cambridge, WI - Mark Eddie Evenson, 73, Cambridge passed away on December 25, 2024 at Sunset Ridge Memory Care in Jefferson, WI.

Mark was born on October 30, 1951, in Fort Atkinson to Eddie and Eunice (Trieloff) Evenson. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1970. Mark served his country in the United States Army as a medic and was deployed to Vietnam during the War. He married Catherine Susee in 1973. Mark worked for many years as a dental technician and then opened his own business (Mark's Mini Mart) in Cambridge. Because of his time in the war, he suffered from PTSD and was fully service connected through the VA. Mark authored a book entitled "The Sins of Sickness: An Alcoholic Believer's Perspective".

Mark was kind, generous, and loyal to the underdog. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed the friendships he had at Lake Ripley Country Club. His grandchildren remember him for his "grandpa bombs down by the creek" and guessing for money.

He is survived by his wife, Cathie; children Matt (Heather) Evenson, Jennie (Jim) Beinborn; grandchildren Ellie, Ethan, Mollie, Caiden, Alexis, and Tenley; brother Doug (Julie) Evenson; many nieces and nephews and his dog Phoebe.

He is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Jim and Catherine Susee, and brother Dennis.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sunset Ridge Memory Care and the staff at the VA in Madison and Tomah for the care that they provided Mark throughout the years.

Per Mark's request there will be no formal services held. Online condolences may be made at www.nitardyfuneralhome.com
