Peter Boer Obituary
He was born on August 2, 1939, in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Cornelius and Jennie (Van Dyke) Boer.
Devoted husband of 61 years to Janice "Jan" (Heyden) Boer, Married August 24, 1964; loving father to Tammy (Todd) Messmer; "Pakee" (Grandpa) to Brandon, Megan, Ryan (Olivia Link) Messmer; Brother to Marilyn Preslicka; Brother-in-law to Jackie Seaberg; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Jim Boer.
In 1957 he graduated from Timothy Christian High School in Cicero, IL. Following graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1961.
Pete wore many hats and when asked what he did for a living, would always reply "Whatever I had to do to survive".
He was a competitive man, loving ping pong, volleyball and bags, also loved gardening, specializing in garlic; but his biggest passion was bowling.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the Lake Mills Moravian Church, 301 W Madison St. Lake Mills.
Family and friends may call after 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church until the time of services.
If desired, memorials can be made to the charity of your choice or to the family.
