Robert Browning Obituary

Robert Lee Browning, 63

In Loving Memory of Robert Lee Browning

August 11, 1962 – December 17, 2025

Robert Lee Browning passed away on December 17, 2025, in Eugene, Oregon, leaving this world a quieter place, but one forever warmed by the life he lived and the love he gave. He was born on August 11, 1962, and his heart was always deeply rooted in the place that shaped him-Revais Creek in Dixon, Montana. That land with its pure, flowing creek and wide skies never left him. It lived in his spirit wherever he went.

Robert spent his final years in Roseburg, Oregon, but he carried Montana in his bones-the flowing water, the open sky, the rhythm of the earth, moon, and stars. He was a man deeply connected to nature and to life itself. He found peace beside rivers, joy on daily bike rides, and meaning in the simple, sacred moments most people rush past.

He was wise in a quiet way, rich with knowledge gained through lived experience rather than words alone. Robert was a storyteller-someone who could sit with you and, through laughter or reflection, make you feel seen and understood. Time spent with him felt unhurried and real. He cherished his close friends and family deeply, and he showed his love not through grand gestures, but through presence, loyalty, and genuine care.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald and Pearl Browning; his beloved daughter, Elizabeth Browning; his sister Susie Duhl (Don); and his brothers John Browning, Albert Browning, Ronnie Berry, and Timothy Oelschlager.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Browning (Moslander); his daughters Linda Harris (Kirk) and Dorothy Clay (Roger); his son William Browning (Bobbie-Jo); and his sisters Janet Oelschlager (Charles), Nancy Eplin (Dave), and Donna Vulles (Gary). He is also survived by his brothers Vernon Browning (Mary-Kay) and Carl Browning.

Robert leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his grandchildren: EmmaJo Browning, Destiny Browning, Sheraylah Pablo (Billy), Dakota James, Tayvn Cahoon, Sierra Uribe-Clay, Serena Uribe-Clay, Josiah Cruz, Vida Clay, Collin Harris, Zaydinn Scott, Xialeena Harris, and Azalea Harris; as well as his great-grandchildren Dreysen Sharbono, William Noel Jr., Elizabeth Noel, Delyla Diaz-Uribe, and Damian Salina's-Clay.

He is also lovingly remembered by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, and by close friends Paul Malatare, Bill King, and Candace Wall. He also cherished the mother of his children, Patricia McCrea, who held a meaningful place in his heart.

Robert Lee Browning lived fully, loved deeply, and left behind a trail of stories, laughter, and quiet wisdom. His spirit lives on in flowing rivers, open skies, and in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him. He will be missed beyond words, but remembered always with love, gratitude, and gentle smiles.
