H. Elaine Parrish

H. Elaine Parrish, 85, of Niles, Michigan died peacefully Monday, March 9, 2026 in the comfort of her family's presence. Her life began June 6, 1940 in South Bend, Indiana the middle of three children born to Thomas and Hazel Sossoman. She married Andrew Ernest Parrish April 8, 1977 in Cassopolis, Michigan. After almost forty-one years of marriage, he preceded her in death in 2018. Elaine loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was an active member of her church. Elaine enjoyed working with people and her career spanned many fields. She and Andy were amateur photographers and enjoyed traveling together. Elaine loved hosting family and friends for holidays and especially the fourth of July fireworks in Niles. Elaine will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Larry (Jamie Fahlsing) Haines, Gary (Kimberly) Haines; a stepson, Robert (Rita) Parrish; twelve grandchildren; many great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Hope Haines; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Carl Haines; her sister, Audrey Squires; her brother, Thomas D. Sossoman, Jr.; and her former husband Ronald Haines. Family and friends will gather at Youngs Prairie Cemetery, Quaker Street off Decatur Road, Cassopolis on Saturday, March 28 at 10:00 A.M. where Elaine will be laid to rest beside her beloved. The family would like to thank PACE of SW Michigan, Long Acres AFC of Buchanan, and West Woods of Niles for the love and compassionate care they gave mom in her later years.
