Nancy J. Chadderdon

Nancy J. Chadderdon, age 77, of Tecumseh, MI passed away at home on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, under the care of Hospice of Lenawee with her husband at her side.

She was born on January 17, 1948 in Niles, Michigan to the late William E. and Mary E. (Austin) Gilbert, and was the oldest of three children. She was a 1966 graduate of Niles High School.

On May 23, 1970, she married Dale L. Chadderdon, and he survives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Linda K. Gustafson, and her nephew, O'Rion Gilbert. She is survived by her nieces and nephew, Mary Kay (Allan) Brown of St. Charles, IL, Andy Gustafson of St. Joseph, MI and Reanna Gilbert of Niles, MI. She is also survived by four grand-nephews and one grand-niece.

Nancy was always extremely supportive of Dale's career and music hobby. As they had no children of their own, she concentrated on being the best Aunt that she could be, doing her best to spoil her nieces and nephews, and later, her grand-niece and grand-nephews. She was a babysitter for a select few children over the years, and worked in retail at various times in her life, most notably at the August Company when it was owned by John and Phil. She was previously an active member of the Tecumseh Service Club for 25 years.

Nancy followed in her mother's footsteps in a number of ways. She was a strong-willed person with a kind and generous heart. She was an outstanding cook, and always took care of the less fortunate. She shared freely of her talents, and enjoyed counted cross stitch and crocheting. She will be missed by all.

At Nancy's request, cremation has taken place, and no memorial service is planned. Memorial contributions in honor of Nancy may be made to the Tecumseh Service Club or to Hospice of Lenawee.
