Timothy O'Connor, 74, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025. He was born in Philadelphia, PA but spent most of his childhood in Michigan. He attended Niles High School in Niles, MI where he met his future wife, Teresa Quade. Tim and Terri graduated in 1969 and were married in 1971. After high school, Tim enlisted in the United States Army and served in Germany as a part of the Army Security Agency as a Russian Linguist. He and Terri lived in Germany for 3 years before returning to the states to serve in the Military Training Department at Fort Riley, Kansas.
In 1977, Tim and Terri welcomed their first child, Sean Timothy O'Connor. Shortly after Sean's birth, Tim was honorably discharged from the Army. He and his family moved to Tampa, FL. Tim attended the University of South Florida and graduated in 1979 with a degree in Business Administration. That year, the couple also welcomed their second child, Erin Kathleen.
After graduation, Tim began his career in banking but transitioned into Human Resources. He eventually started his own consulting firm. His career took him traveling all over the South, including Biloxi, MS, and Augusta, GA. In 2001, he and his wife settled in Jacksonville, FL. At 65, he retired from UF Medical as the training director in the HR department.
Tim was an avid golfer and would share his exploits with anyone who was interested. He also enjoyed reading science fiction and passed his love of the genre on to both his children. His other hobbies included chess, video games, and driving his BMW convertible with the top down. He was a die hard Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan and would watch them whenever they played.
Tim was a charismatic and friendly man. As a life long learner he loved connecting with people and sharing ideas - anything from the latest news to the mysteries of outer space. His favorite subject, though, was his family, working his children and grandchildren into many conversations.
Timothy O'Connor is survived by his wife, Terri; two children, Sean and Erin; four grandchildren, Timothy, Bridget, Malcolm, and Abigail; and his brother, Mark.
Services will be held at the Florida National Cemetery.
