Ardys Nelson Obituary

Ardys J. Nelson, 88, of Osseo, died Sunday, September 5, 2021, at Rolling Meadows of Strum.
Ardys was born August 4, 1933, in Chimney Rock Township, Trempealeau County, to Arnold and Selma (Knutson) Oium. She married LaVerne Nelson December 1, 1951, in Osseo. He died February 17, 2007.
Ardys worked as a farmer's wife, housekeeper in Eau Claire and at Gopher Glove in Independence. She lived with her granddaughter, Rhiannon "Tula" Riggen, who cared for her daily. She was a member of Evanger Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis Nelson of Spring Valley, Wayne (Melita) Nelson of Mondovi and Bryan (Laurie) Nelson of Arkansaw, Wis.; 15 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVerne Nelson Sr.; two sons, LaVerne Nelson, Jr. and Randy Nelson and daughter, Yvonne Bue.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at Evanger Lutheran Church, rural Independence. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from noon until service.
