Barbara Ann Feirn (Walker) passed away April 11 at Oakwood Health Services in Altoona.
She was born February 6, 1938, in Eau Claire, WI, the daughter of Karl and Eva (Radtke) Walker. She graduated from Memorial High School with the class of 1956. Barb worked at Luther Hospital (now Mayo Clinic Health System) in medical records for over 30 years until retiring at the age of 79. She was also a lifelong member of Peace Church in Eau Claire.
Barb's hobbies included playing cards, completing jigsaw puzzles, and watching her Green Bay Packers. Many years ago, she bowled at Wagner's 66½ Lanes in Eau Claire and traveled to many different states for bowling tournaments. Above all, Barb enjoyed spending time with her family & friends.
Barb is survived by her three children, Jeff (Linda) Feirn of Eau Claire, daughter, Julie (Tony) Peterson of Weyerhaeuser, and John (Jodi) Feirn of Colfax; sister, Jane (Bryan) Schwark of Platteville, WI; four grandchildren, Sarah (Grady) Stehr, Cory (Haley) Feirn, Kyndra Feirn, and Jacob Feirn; step-grandchild, Taylor Phinn; great grandchildren, Grayson and Braxton Feirn; her very good friend for over 50 years, LaDonna Mahder; and by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lawrence "Bud" Walker; sister-in-law, Twila Walker; sister, Virginia Rohlfs; nephew, Mike Rohlfs; and niece, Debra Schoenfeldt.
Memorial services for Barb will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, at Thompson Funeral Home & Chippewa Valley Cremation Services in Bloomer with Pastor Mark Schulz officiating. Family & friends are invited to join in coffee & donuts following the service at the funeral home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Eau Claire at a later date.
The family would like to thank everyone at Lake Hallie Memory Care in Chippewa Falls, Oakwood Health Services in Altoona, as well as St. Croix Hospice for all the care given to Barb.
