Cheryl Marie Dejno, of Park City, UT, passed away unexpectedly at her home after a brief illness on February 22 at the age of 62.
Cheryl was born on February 15, 1962, in Chippewa Falls, WI, the daughter of Ernest and Coreen (Hutchinson) Dejno. Cheryl received her first Holy Communion at Notre Dame Catholic Church and confirmed at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in her hometown.
She graduated from Chippewa Falls Senior High School in 1981. Following high school, Cheryl earned a degree in biology at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Cheryl was the proud owner of a business, Alpine View Appraisals in Summit County, Park City, UT. She was also a mediator in Utah's court system. Cheryl was blessed with the birth of two sons, Grant and David Carsten. She was devoted to her boys and loved them with all of her heart. She enjoyed being a homemaker and mother and always did the best she could for her family.
In her leisurely hours, she enjoyed exploring the great outdoors and playing pickleball.
Cheryl was a dedicated mother, daughter, sister and friend to many and will be greatly missed. She was deeply imbued with the spirit of charity, and was always generous with her time, effort and money. The family has received numerous calls from Park City residents expressing gratitude for help Cheryl gave them. She had an exuberance, cheerfulness and passion for life that she shared freely with all.
Cheryl loved her Catholic faith - it never waivered. In recent years, she continued to grow in her faith, participating often in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and daily prayer.
"Well done, my good and faithful servant" - Matthew 25:23
She is survived by her two sons, Grant Carsten of Washington state, and David Carsten of Park City, UT; and her family in Chippewa Falls, which includes her mother, Coreen Dejno, and siblings, Vicki Dejno, Lindsey Dejno and Dave (Nicole) Dejno. Her survivors also include three nieces, a nephew and their families.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Dejno.

Dear family of Cheryl, My sincere condolences on her passing to eternal life. I knew her from the time she spent taking care of Trappist Father Patrick Boyle here in Salt Lake City and from Mass at St Ambrose also Salt Lake City, UT. She was a great help to Father Patrick before he passed. She was always cheerful and friendly and I am sorry to hear she passed away so unexpectedly. May she rest in peace, she will be missed. With Love Through Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Connie Gallegos OCDS, Utah
