Connie Jean Howell, 57, died unexpectedly November 20.
Connie, daughter of Odean and Catherine (Dutter) Schreiner was born February 14, 1967. She lived all her life in Augusta, graduating from Augusta High School in 1986. After receiving her CNA license from CVTC she worked 28 years at the Augusta Nursing Home.
Connie was a single mother until marrying Robert Colby, and to this union she was blessed with four more children. Connie loved spending time with family and was a true definition of a homebody. She enjoyed cats, hummingbirds, flowers, music, television and playing mobile games.
Connie had a very close and special relationship with her mother and when Catherine passed away in 2011, she never stopped missing her, as her own children will never stop missing her.
Connie is survived by two daughters, Amanda (Shane) Gerike and Jennifer Colby, both of Augusta; three sons, Christopher, Ryan and Jacob Colby ,all of Augusta; former husband and father of her children, Robert Colby; four grandchildren, Jeremiah, Shayla, Camden and Gemma Gerike; three sisters, Juanita Godfrey of Gresham, OR, Nancy Dean of Ladysmith, Julie Walters of El Mirage, AZ; three brothers, Walter Johnson of Augusta, Dean Schreiner of Eau Claire, Greg Schreiner of Colfax; special friend, Mark Gooden; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Henry and Fern (Stevens) Dutter, Otto and Josephine (Wold) Schreiner; and beloved cat, Snowball.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Dec. 14 from noon to 5 p.m. at the stone barn at 113 W. Grant Street, Augusta, across from the funeral home.
