Cynthia Lynn Brevik, 68, of Augusta, passed away early Thursday morning, January 30 at Mayo Clinic Health System-Eau Claire, where she was comforted knowing her siblings were by her bedside.
Cindy and her twin brother Chuck were born July 11, 1956, to John and Betty (Searcy) Brevik. She was raised with her six siblings in Fairchild, attended Fairchild Elementary School and graduated in 1975 from Osseo-Fairchild High School.
Cindy received certified nursing assistant training and went on to work as a CNA for over 30 years at the Augusta Area Nursing Home and the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation. Due to ill health she retired in 2019 and continued to live at the Augusta Apartments until 2024, when her health require the care she received at Dove Health Center-West in Eau Claire..
Throughout her life Cindy had enjoyed spending time with family and friends. When she was able she loved bowling and dancing, collecting jewelry, playing bingo, trivia, card games and was an avid Milwaukee Brewer fan. She never missed watching a game if she could help it and also looked forward to Packer games and NASCAR racing.
Cindy cherished the friendships she made throughout her life and the fulfillment it gave her. Her involvement with the First Baptist Church in Augusta was an important aspect of her life and her church family also meant the world to her. Another activity that she never missed was her weekly Bible study meetings at the church. Her keen knowledge and understanding of the bible was impressive. Cindy lived her faith, was a tremendous role model, and will always be admired and remembered as someone who was genuinely nice to everyone she met.
Cindy was a loved sister by Mark (Carol) Brevik of Augusta, Charles (Pam) Brevik of Holmen, Pam Lee, John (Sue) Brevik all of Westby, Wayne Brevik and Jennifer Brevik (Steve Pflieger), all of Fairchild; she was a loving aunt to 15 nieces and nephews; 19 great nieces and nephews; niece to Don (Dorothy) Searcy of Augusta, Hazel (Al) Guay of Eau Claire; long time special friend to Marla Wiese of Augusta; cousin and friend to many.
Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Betty, on March 26, 2013; father, John, on Dec. 19, 2019; and great nephews, Boyd Brevik and Ryan Brevik.
A visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 6 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Augusta, followed by services at 1 p.m. with Pastor David Dahl officiating. Burial will be in the Osseo Cemetery.
The family is assisted by Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
