Daniel M. O'Bryan, 79, of Eau Claire passed away on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Eau Claire. He was surrounded by his wife and children at the time of his death. We would like to thank the staff at Mayo for providing comfort and care for Dan and the entire family who came to visit him.
Family was especially important to Dan and he was blessed for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren to have the opportunity to say goodbye and express their love and appreciation for him in his final days. All remember Dan as the foundation stone of the family. He always took care of everyone around him and was tireless in jumping in to help others. Dan was always ready with a witty one liner to make people groan and laugh. He had many lifelong friends who he cared about deeply, and who understood his humor. He was a regular playing Jeopardy for many years at O'Leary's and then West Side with friends.
Dan was born on July 6, 1946, as the only child to Floyd and Mary (Harward) O'Bryan in Sioux City, Iowa. Some of you may remember him as Danny. He grew up on his family farm and attended St. Michael's Catholic School and Bishop Heelan High School. He was active in Boy Scouts and volunteered as Assistant Scout Master alongside his good friend Denny O'Keefe.
Dan graduated from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire with a degree in English and worked at Johnson Litho Graphics from 1967 to 2015. As a salesman he formed many successful connections with businesses in the Wisconsin Dells area, supplying them with colorful brochures and calendars in the tourism industry.
Dan is survived by his wife of 59 years, Paula O'Bryan of Eau Claire; his son, Jay O'Bryan (Beth) of LaCrosse, and their children Elisha Patterson (Clint), Cayla Burner (Joe), Devyn O'Bryan; his daughter, Tiffany O'Bryan Olson (Ken) of Sykesville, Maryland and their children Katie, Abby, Emma, Gwyneth and Jack Olson; his grandchildren by deceased daughter Tia: Justin, Shawn, Joshua, Jessica, and Carl, as well as 5 great-grandchildren. His love and legacy will live on. He lived his life to the fullest providing love and support for his family and loved ones.
