January 22, 1931 - June 20, 2025
Geraldine Lucille Gorkowski Kaufman 94, died June 20th, 2025. Born the eldest of 9 children on January 22nd, 1931, to Cliffair Boullion and Thomas Gorkowski. Geri graduated in 1948, left home to work in a cannery until taking care of Snooks mother Ursula. On September 4th, 1948, she married Charles "Snooks" Kaufman at St Joseph's Church.
She was a bowler in the 1960s and again in the 1980s. She loved playing cards, fish dinners and SilverDome dancing with friends. Always in the kitchen cooking, baking and canning. Everyone loved her food, especially pies.
The matriarch of St Joseph's Church, she taught catechism, served St Mary's Altar Society, made children Communion Breads and buns for Easter. She always prayed Faithfully and was honored as "Woman of the Light "
Geri's biggest joy is her nine surviving children: Rozanne Traczek, Diane (Bob) Schnell, Kenneth (Sheri) Kaufman, David (Dawn) Kaufman, Gary (Tammy) Kaufman, Daniel Kaufman, Mark (Celeste) Kaufman, Lisa Kaufman and Mary Schamberger. Survived by one sister Teresa Adelmann. 20 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband Charles Kaufman, son-in-law Frank Traczek, and Grandson Charles Kaufman. Two great grandsons Colin Kaufman and Reese Kaufman-Kittelson. Sisters MaryAnn, JeanYvonne, Virginia, infants Sonya and Helene. Brothers Michael, Randy, and Thomas.
Visitation Wednesday June 25th 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Rosary service 6:30 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home Augusta, Wisconsin. Funeral services Thursday June 26th 11:00 a.m. St Joseph's Catholic Church Fairview, Fairchild.
