John F. Tobisch, beloved son and brother, passed away peacefully at home in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on December 14 at the age of 72. He was born on April 28, 1951, in Eau Claire and fought a brave battle with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) for two years prior to his death.
John was a talented carpenter and woodworker, spending many years of his life living in Colorado and building beautiful log homes, followed by a return to Eau Claire where he continued working within the trade with his brother, Paul.
He was known for being hardworking, kind and loyal. John had a deep love for animals, such as the dogs and wolves he raised in Colorado, as well as the two cats, Harley and Bear, he took in as kittens in 2019. He enjoyed spending time with longtime friends, listening to live country and classic rock music, owning and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles, collecting classic vehicles and rooting for the Green Bay Packers.
John will be deeply missed by his siblings, Emily, Barbara, Angela, Paul, Patrick, Mary, Peter, Daniel and Ellen, as well as various nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, David, as well as both parents, Ralph and Beverly.
A celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 27 at Lenmark Gomsrud Linn Funeral & Cremation Services, 814 1st Ave., Eau Claire. A private family burial will take place at Rest Haven Cemetery in Eau Claire. Online condolences may be shared at lenmarkfh.com.
