Julia "Julie" Gladwell

Julia M. "Julie" Gladwell, age 99, of Eau Claire, passed away peacefully Friday, December 5th, 2025 at Lake Hallie Memory Care.

She was born January 3, 1926 in Ishpeming, Michigan to the late Joseph and Blanche Stagliano.

Julia graduated from Eau Claire Senior High School in 1944. She married Richard V. Gladwell on March 24th 1951. After high school, she was employed as a factory worker at National Pressure Cooker Company producing munitions for the war effort. She held various office & clerical positions, most notably at the Eau Claire Book and Stationery as a bookkeeper. Julie was a long time member of North Presbyterian Church, and since 2003, was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Julie started playing the piano at a very young age & loved playing it throughout her life.

She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. She enjoyed weekly Sunday morning doughnuts and coffee with family. Up north fishing trips to various lakes and resorts were some of her favorite activities, along with a trip or two to the casino. She also was an avid walker.

Julie is survived by her three sons and one daughter. Steve (Debra) Gladwell, Jim (Bev) Gladwell, both of Eau Claire; Lee (Natalie) Gladwell, Mary Jo (Brian) Mawby, both of Chippewa Falls. Eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, plus numerous nieces & nephews. Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph & Blanche Stagliano; her husband, Richard Gladwell; brothers & sister-in-laws, James (Hazel) & Samuel (Arlene) Stagliano; great grandson, Sawyer Steven Johnson.

Our family would like to sincerely thank the staffs of Lake Hallie Memory Care and Lily Hospice & also Rev. Timothy J. Heupel with Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. All were compassionate & caring during Julie's time of need.

A private family service will be held at Lenmark-Gomsrud-Linn Funeral Home – West Chapel. Burial will be held at Prairie View Cemetery in the Village of Lake Hallie. Online condolences for Julie's family may be left at www.lenmarkfh.com.
