Kenneth Kreiling Obituary

Kenneth Kreiling passed away peacefully on February 2. Born in Chippewa Falls, WI on June 24, 1941, Ken was the son of the late Norman and Lillian Kreiling.

He received a bachelor's degree from Marquette University, master's and law degrees from the University of Wisconsin and an advanced law degree from Harvard University. He began his career as a research associate at the University of Wisconsin Institute for Research on Law and Poverty. He then worked with the New Haven Legal Assistance Association. In 1976, he joined the faculty at Vermont Law School where he was an accomplished scholar in scientific and expert evidence. Ken loved the law, teaching, researching and learning. He also enjoyed traveling, cooking and spending time with his family and friends. Incredibly smart, kind and loving, Ken will be missed by all who were privileged to know him.

Ken is survived by his beloved wife, Blanche Podhajski Kreiling; and daughter, Elizabeth Hunt, her husband Scott Lollis; and their children, William, Matthew and Julia. He also leaves his sister Katherine Bollom and her husband Melvin, their daughter Lori and son Timothy, his wife Breah and their children Cooper and Kennedy. Those who wish may make donations for scholarships in Ken's name to the Waterbury Rotary Club, the Stern Center for Language and Learning or Vermont Law School.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 10 at St. Andrew's Church in Waterbury, VT followed by a burial service to be held at noon on Monday, February 12 at Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Britain, CT.

I was sorry to hear of Professor Ken Kreiling's passing. He was one of our beloved professors in the early days of the Vermont Law School; I took his course on Evidence. Blanche I am so sorry for your loss. I am down in Florida now and won't be able to attend the funeral service but I will be thinking of you and better days past. Cathy also sends her regards. Take good care.
