Nathaniel Bell Obituary

Nathaniel Rick Bell, 36, of Oakland, CA, was tragically taken too soon due to a motorcycle accident after leaving work October 31. Bystanders attempted CPR but God had other plans and took him home early November 1.

Nathan, formally of Augusta, WI, was born on July 5, 1988, in Minneapolis, MN, to Ricky W. Bell and Cheryl A. (Rossow) Bell Berg. He was the light of our eye and the joy of our heart. There was never a dull moment. Nathan graduated from Augusta High school in 2007 and then went on to college at UW-Milwaukee. While in his college years, he had jobs around Milwaukee cooking and found his true calling as a chef. He was truly passionate about being in the kitchen, and excelled at all kinds of food from fine dining to BBQ. His positivity and optimism touched everyone that he met, and he was always available to help a friend in need. When he wasn't in the kitchen, you could find him crab fishing under the Golden Gate Bridge, panning for gold or spending time at the casino. You can watch his YouTube videos called Fishing: Trial and Error.

Nathan met the joy of his life in the San Francisco area, Tshego Letsoalo, and they were married December 23, 2014, in Eau Claire, WI. They settled in Oakland, CA, because this was close to where they met. They had a wonderful life together with their dog, Scarlett.

Nathan is preceded in death by his in-laws, Jonas and Josephine Letsoalo; grandma, Beverly (Nelson) Rossow; grandparents, Olive (Smith) and William Bell; aunt, Sherry Bell and uncle Mark Rossow; and many other great-grandparents and cousins.

He is survived by wife, Tshego Letsoalo; parents, Ricky W. Bell and Cheryl and Steven Berg; brothers, Joshua (fiancée Se Vang) and Jason Bell; sisters, Courtney (Nate) Goss, Lindsey (Tory) Walker; nephews, Wesley and Owen Goss, Declan and Iver Walker; grandfather, Gary (Lori) Rossow; brother-in-Law, Tshepo (Ruby) Letsoalo; and many special and close aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and colleagues.

Funeral services will he held at 1 p.m. on Sunday November 17 at the Anderson Funeral Home, with burial in the West Lawn Cemetery, both in Augusta. Services will be conducted by Pastor Sean Heuer. A visitation prior to the service will begin at 11 a.m. A time to meet with the family will also be held that same day from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Augusta Lions Hall, 200 E. Lincoln St. (Hwy. 12), Augusta.
