Richard Tischman Obituary
Richard "Dick" A. Tischman age 91, of Menomonie, WI passed away Saturday, March 9 at the Neighbors of Dunn County.
He was born November 24, 1932 in Menomonie, WI to parents Alfred and Elsie (Schultz) Tischman. Dick graduated from Menomonie High School in 1952 and spent his whole life in the Menomonie area.
Dick married Carol Christianson on December 10, 1955 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Menomonie. In 1960, they moved from Menomonie to their farm in the Town of Lucas and raised their four children.
He proudly served in the army during the Korean War.
Dick enjoyed spending his time woodworking, working on farm equipment, and helping his boys farm. He loved to get together with his good friends at their "Coffee Clutch Group" and was known as a "regular" at Fleet Farm where he spent most of his time talking with old friends rather than shopping.
Dick always looked forward to traveling to Arizona with his special friend Arla May. They have been wintering there for over 20 years.
Dick is survived by his four children Daniel (Colleen) Tischman, Mark (Lori) Tischman, Thomas (Sarah) Tischman, and Sara (Terry) Bundy; grandchildren Stephanie (Justin), Cory (Jeff), Ryan (Shelby), Aaron (Colette), Andy, Tyler (Friend Kennedy), Lexi (Fiance Jake), and Bobby (Friend Alyssa); chosen grandson Chris Das; great-grandchildren Ella, Grace, Nora, Lilah, Peyton and Paige; extended great-grandchildren Jackson, Leah, and Lincoln. He is further survived by his special friend Arla May, many in the Christianson family, and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, former wife Carol, brothers, sisters, other relatives and friends.
The family wanted to give a special thank you to Welcome Home Elmwood, Neighbors of Dunn County and his favorite nurses Kang and "B" Laborske.
Visitation will be held from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. on Friday, March 15 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI followed by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Dan Richardson officiating. Burial will be at Ford Cemetery in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn County, Wisconsin with Military Honors performed by Menomonie Veteran's Honor Guard.
