Helen Marjorie (Henry) Crawford, 87, of Cowansville, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, surrounded by her family at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot, Pa.
She was born June 28, 1934, in Cowansville, to the late Wilfred Stewart and Florence Mable (Boarts) Henry, and was a lifelong resident of the community.
Helen was a homemaker as well as a business owner. She attended Sherrett United Methodist Church and volunteered with Sugarcreek Township and Sugarcreek Park. She enjoyed softball, bowling, crocheting blankets, playing the piano and raising farm animals. Helen was famous for her buns and apple butter.
Survivors include her son, Arnold Crawford, Jr. and wife, Diana, of Cowansville; daughter, Kathy Vogt and husband, Steve, of East Brady; son, Richard Crawford, of Cowansville; daughter, Connie Sue John, of Worthington; daughter, Linda Dunmire and husband, Arthur, of Worthington; son, Ronald Crawford, of Cowansville; daughters: Karla Bowser and husband, Brent, of Worthington and Debra Smith and husband, David, of Worthington; sons: Henry Crawford and wife, Janet, of Rimersburg and Timothy Crawford, of New Castle; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Ann Whittaker and husband, Russ; and brothers: Wilfred Henry, Jr., and wife, Fay, Phillip Henry and wife, Ruth and Tom Cessna and wife, Leeann.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold A. Crawford, Sr., who passed away July 2, 2021; daughter, Helen Anderson; sons-in-law: Donald John and Kevin Pyle; grandchildren: Carson Crawford and John Allen Dunkle; sister, Elma Jean Crawford and her husband, Robert Crawford; and brothers: Gerald Henry and James Peggs.
A private viewing and funeral service will be held by the family with Helen's sonin law, Dave Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates.
Arrangements are under the care of the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home in Cowansville, Pa.
