Nora Wylie Ebert, 93, of Hubbard, Ohio, passed away Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013, at Hospice of the Valley Hospice House in Poland, Ohio. Nora was born July 17, 1920, in Coy Junction, a daughter of William and Nora (Ruble) Harris and one of eight children. She was a 1937 graduate of Kittanning High School and came to Hubbard, Ohio, in 1952. She was a secretary for Nationwide Insurance for 36 years, retiring in 1983. She was a 58-year member of First Baptist Church of Hubbard. During her membership, she served several times as president of the Up and Going Sunday School Class and Women's Bible and Study Group. She also served as treasurer for nine years, served on deaconate, trustees and finance boards, as well as secretary-treasurer for Women's Mission Group and chairman of Women's Council. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary for 67 years, a past president and for 25 years served as secretary-treasurer. She was past president of Trumbull County Council of American Legion Auxiliary and was past chapeau of Salon 519 - 8 and 40 American Legion Auxiliary. Nora was a precinct committeewoman at the election board for many years and a member of Eastern Star. Nora was also a member of Saxon Club Branch 30 Retirees Youngstown and Saxon Mr. and Mrs. Club of Youngstown, Ohio. Nora's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed baking, ceramics, watching the Indians and eating goodies. Her first husband, Robert J. Wylie, whom she married June 24, 1938, passed away Dec. 10, 1970; her second husband, Robert W. Ebert, whom she married June 1, 1973, passed away Sept. 17, 1998. She will be sadly missed by her family, her daughter and son, Judy (Bert) Paulk and James W. (Marice) Wylie, both of Hubbard, Ohio; her stepdaughter, Judy Ebert of Youngstown, Ohio; grandchildren, Lori Paulk, Jim (Joanne) Wylie, Michael (Gina) Wylie and Melissa (Bob) Toot; and great-grandchildren, Amanda Seech, Jarrod Seech, Jenna Wylie, Justine Wylie, Ethan Toot, Brandon Toot, Brian Nail, Kayla Nail and Jacob Nail. She also leaves three step-grandchildren, Tammie (Patrick) Osborne, Kristie Ebert, Kerrie (Peter) Cordon; and step-great-grandchildren, Jaryd Ebert and Nolan Cordon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands; her infant daughter, Noreen Wylie; her grandson, Bert Paulk Jr., stepson, Tom Ebert; her brothers, John Harris, Ernest Harris, William Harris and Robert Harris; and her sisters, Ruth Lias, Jane Bosak and Margaret Brewer. There will be calling hours 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013 and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday Dec. 9, 2013, followed by the service 11 a.m. at STEWART-KYLE FUNERAL HOME. Nora will be laid to rest at Hubbard Union Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of Heritage Manor and Hospice House for the wonderful care given to Nora.
