Paul Ondich, 96, of Yatesboro, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, at Grey's Colonial Acres.

He was born on May 13, 1925, to Michael and Susan (Mital) Ondich at Osceola Mills, Pa.

Paul worked in the coal mines for 41 years and was the first President of UMWA Local 2283. He loved farming, gardening and walking. Paul was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II. He was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God Church, Yatesboro.

Paul is survived by his son, Michael (Tammy) Ondich, of Rural Valley; two daughters, Mary Kay (Rich) Palilla, of Kittanning, and Tina (Jerry) Samosky, of Rural Valley; seven grandchildren: Matt (partner - Megan Myers) Palilla, Laura (Matt) Daddio, Katie (Kasey) Corbin, Vincent (Jenn) Samosky, Sarah (Tyler) Benjamin, Emily (Tyson) Kennedy and Jacob (Bethany) Ondich; and four great-grandchildren: Olivia and Owen Corbin, and Kinsley and Stetson Kennedy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ida (Fusaro) Ondich, three brothers: Jim, Jerry and Melvin Ondich; and a sister, Leah Kovach.

Visitation will be held from 3-7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021, at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc., 724 W. Main St., Rural Valley, Pa.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, from St. Mary, Mother of God Church, Yatesboro.

Burial will take place in the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Yatesboro.
