Timothy Kvasnak Obituary

Timothy John "Butchie" Kvasnak, 65, of Kittanning, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2022 in Armstrong Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility (the former Health Center) in Kittanning.

Born in Kittanning on August 23, 1956, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Helen (Kudelka) Kvasnak.

He lived in Sagamore, PA until 2009, then relocating to Garden Towers in Kittanning from 2009 until 2011. He then lived at Ross Ridge Manor (Our Family's Home) in Ford City until 2015. Melody Manor in Kittanning was his next home until 2020, and finally lived in Armstrong Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility until his death.

Tim graduated from West- Shamokin High School in 1974. In his working years, he was employed by Season-All and a grocery store in Elderton. A member of the Greek Catholic Union, he was also a devout member of the former Sacred Heart Church in Sagamore. After Sacred Heart church closed, he became a member of St. Mary Mother of God parish in Yatesboro, Pa., finally becoming a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadelupe parish when he moved to Kittanning in 2009. He also enjoyed going to Father John Izral's masses and prayer meetings with his cousins Susan and Anna Marie Simensky when Father Izral was the pastor at St. Mary Ukrainian Church in Ford City, and St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Church in Arnold, Pa.

Tim was a kind and gentle soul who was also known as "Polka Tim", loved eating, listening to polka music and songs, watching professional wrestling on tv, going to auctions with his father, driving to Punxsutawney to see "Polka Mike" Rudzinski, who hosted a Polka radio show, and spending lots of time with his parents.

One of Tim's great dislikes was being a diabetic, as he adored candy and sweets.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, father Nicholas on January 1, 1995, and mother Helen on September 16, 2013; a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his beloved second cousin and caretaker Susan Simensky of Ford City and her brothers, John Simensky of Columbia, MD and Michael (Nancy) Simensky and their daughter Mariah Simensky, all of Dormont, Pa.; 1st cousins Marina (David) Starr family of Warren, OH; and her brother Michael S. Popp family of Ferndale, MI; an uncle Lou Strazzer of Holiday Park, Pa.; numerous 1st, 2nd, and 3rd cousins on the Kudelka side of his family.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. in Mantini Funeral Home, Inc., 701 Sixth Avenue, Ford City.

Mass of Christian Burial will be performed on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11 A.M. in St Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Kittanning with Father Ron Maquinana as celebrant.

Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sagamore, Pa.
